Boat Rental Caribbean

You can find your dream boat rental in the Caribbean with or without a skipper on the Nautal website. Search for catamarans, motorboats, yacht and sailboat rental in the Caribbean and/or in the world. Flexible cancellation or date changes up to 15 days before check-in is allowed on selected boats. The Caribbean is quite simply one of the best sailing destinations in the world. Check out our offers for sailboat rentals in the Caribbean!

Renowned for its paradisaical, clear, crystalline waters, its idyllic beaches and palm trees, the region makes a once-in-a-lifetime romantic getaway, an unforgettable family holiday and a thrilling sailing adventure. The Caribbean region is vast and varied, so it's best to pick a particular area and dedicate a full week-long boat rental to soak in the sunshine and seascapes. If you dream of sunbathing in the Caribbean while contemplating the turquoise water scenery and stunning islands, we recommend sailing in Martinique, Saint Martin, Guadeloupe, Cancun and the British Virgin Islands, among others.

How much does it cost to rent a boat in the Caribbean?

The price of Caribbean boat rentals varies greatly depending on a number of different factors.  A few of these factors include whereabouts you want to charter a boat in the Caribbean, the size and model of the boat, the intended season and duration of your Caribbean sailing holiday, and the number of people aboard.  Whether you want a bareboat charter in the Caribbean or to rent with a skipper will also affect the price.  Furthermore, we have a wide range of different boat types, so whether you want a luxurious yacht charter or a sailboat rental in the Caribbean will also affect the price.

  • To hire a boat without a licence, you should expect to pay at least £2722 a week.
  • Catamaran rental in the Caribbean will usually cost around £94 per day or £655 per week.
  • For fishing boat charters, you will typically pay about £650 for a day and £3500 for a week.
  • RIB hire can cost anywhere from around £260 a day or £1823 a week.
  • Motorboat charter prices normally start at £202 per day and £1417 per week.
  • Sailboat rental in the Caribbean typically costs at least £363 for a day or £2539 for a week in high season, but will drop down to around £186 for a day or £1302 for a week in low season.
  • Trimaran hire costs usually start at around £3788 per week in low season, but will rise to around £4616 per week in high season.
  • To rent a yacht in the Caribbean, you should expect to pay anywhere from around £1475 a day or £10325 a week.

Is it possible to find a bareboat charter in the Caribbean or do you need to rent with a skipper?

Yes, it is possible to find a boat rental in the Caribbean either with or without a skipper.

Sailing in the Caribbean with a skipper is ideal if you want to be guided through the best places in the area and get the most out of your Caribbean sailing holiday. There will always be an additional price for boat charter in the Caribbean with a skipper, and this will usually start from around £140 per day.

You can rent a boat in the Caribbean without a skipper if you have the appropriate licence or if there are boats available to rent that do not require a licence. It is without a doubt a great idea to be the captain of your own boat if you are an experienced sailor.  For sailing the Caribbean without a skipper, a sailing resume is considered.  A bareboat charter in the Caribbean is a great way to feel like a sailor onboard! Large yachts, however, are usually chartered with crew and captain.

The most common types of boats for rent in the Caribbean are sailboats, catamarans, motorboats and yachts. Choose the one that best suits your needs and go sailing in the Caribbean or one of our other charter destinations.

What to do during Caribbean sailing vacations?

What could be more relaxing than a boat rental in the Caribbean? A tranquil tropical climate with breathtaking views of snow-white beaches inhabited by wildlife and natural beauty. Swim with the friendly water pigs in the Bahamas or kayak across the psychedelic lagoon in Bahía Mosquito in Puerto Rico as you admire the fluorescent water and tropical fish below; the peculiar delights on offer during a Caribbean boat charter are truly out-of-this-world. So what are you waiting for? Cruise the Caribbean on a boat rental and discover raw nature wild at heart.

Our Caribbean boat rentals are based on several islands in different areas. Ranging from the Bahamas in the north, stretching all the way down to islands such as Grenada and Saint Lucia in the South Caribbean.

The Caribbean is in itself the perfect sailing destination. Many will find a Caribbean boat charter for a week with a skipper to explore this variegated region, circumnavigating islands or hopping between islets and beaches on awe-inspiring cruises.

There is not a "best" Caribbean sailing experience, as all are intriguing and invigorating, but there are many highlights.

For instance, if you take your boat rental in the Caribbean to St. Lucia, you can enjoy incredible views of the Pitons and easy half-day island-hopping adventures.  Many people are also drawn to St Lucia for its diving waters and soft sailing. In the Bahamas, you're spoilt for choice, with the Abaco Islands, New Providence and Grand Bahama offering a glimpse into one of the world's great island lifestyles. Antigua is the perfect place for boat rental in the Caribbean for wildlife enthusiasts, owing to its Hawksbill sea turtle nesting areas. Martinique is perfect for Caribbean boat hire for those interested in hiking and French-Caribbean cuisine, whilst the British Virgin Islands encourages fantastic sailing with port bars and easy anchorage near coves, bays and beaches.

Boat charters in the Caribbean are great whether you want a sailing vacation full of snorkelling in coral reefs or island hopping to the different islands. A Caribbean boat rental vacation is one of a kind, with a moving home to relax in and enjoy the area.

What weather and sailing conditions can you expect for a boat rental in the Caribbean?

Caribbean sailing season typically runs from mid-December until mid-April but between March and June, the Caribbean is also an absolute pleasure to sail. Although in general, the Caribbean is nice almost all year round, we don’t advise you to sail in hurricane season during August and September.

Sailing the Eastern Caribbean in early summer (March - June) is perfect. Not only are there fewer tourists, but the weather is calmer and tranquil with flowers blooming all around. In addition, anchoring and exploring the gorgeous bays of the islands is effortless, as the trade winds are ideal for holiday sailing.

We recommend sailing the East Coast and lagoons on a boat rental in Martinique during this time of year.

Although it’s windier and cooler, Christmas time is a very popular time for sailing the Caribbean, as well. Bookings are taken fairly early in advance (up to a year) though, so book in advance to avoid disappointment!

Similar to Christmas, Thanksgiving is also very popular for sailing holidays in the Caribbean. Whenever you choose to go, you can’t miss out on charter boats in the Caribbean.

What are the most popular ports to stop off at when you charter a boat in the Caribbean?

Depending on where you choose to sail to in the Caribbean there are endless port options. Some of the most popular ports in the Caribbean by destination are:

Bahamas:

  • Yacht Haven Marina
  • Palm Cay Marina
  • Marsh Harbour Marina

British Virgin Islands:

  • Nanny Cay Marina
  • Scrub Island Resort

Martinique:

  • Marina Pointe du Bout
  • Port du Marin
  • Marina de Cohe

How to get to your boat charter in the Caribbean?

There are international airports dotted all over the many Caribbean islands, meaning the chances are you can fly directly to your boat rental in the Caribbean.

However, there are other ways of getting to Caribbean boat rentals. For example, flying to Miami is a good option for getting to the Bahamas. You can rent a boat in Miami and sail to the Bahamas, or you can simply change at the airport and catch a local flight to your desired island.

Don’t miss out on your Caribbean sailing holiday!
